i've never been really big into baking. or cooking much of anything at all for that matter. but as a result of having a kitchen at my, and only my, disposal for the past year, i've gradually, and somewhat begrudgingly, started making a lot more things from scratch. this is mainly due to the fact that i'm avoiding processed foods as much as possible (more on that some other time) and its really difficult to find non-processed dinners and desserts unless you make them yourself.
anyways, thanks to eat, live, run and anna lewis for passing on the recipe, it turns out you don't need a bag of brownie mix to make brownies, you can actually make them from real ingredients: butter, sugar, flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, unsweetened chocolate, and sea salt. they're so good! i'll tell you what's not good though, and that's a bite of unsweetened chocolate. don't try it.
