don't get me wrong. i love jmu. i always have, and i always will. and if i start to wane, all i'll have to do is look down at the purple paw prints on my foot and i'll be back on track.

that being said, virginia tech has one thing jmu lacks: a strong football program and a student body that really, really cares about it. so, it is in this department that i have become an honorary hokie.

my trip to blacksburg this past weekend contained all the necessary ingredients for a great day of football: a beautiful fall day, tailgating with friends, a military fly-over, 60,000 people jumping up and down to metallica and screaming chants in unison, delicious stadium concessions, a beautiful last-minute pass to win the game, and an impromptu field rush.

jmu, don't hold it against me.
