is it spring yet?

i just broke the office's silence with a very audible gasp followed by a bemoanful "oh my god." i'm sure both my cubicle neighbors and inhabitants of the surrounding offices are wondering what horrible act i just committed. did i sell too many shares of a client's stock position? no. did i mail confidential account information to the wrong person? no.

what i just realized is that new york fashion week kicked off this morning, yet here it is almost 2:30pm and i haven't begun to explore all the new creations just introduced to the fashion world. to add insult to injury, my day's activities have included searching for apartments in new york, mapping the distance to the closest showing of "the september issue," and updating my fall wardrobe shopping list. yet i still didn't make the connection.

new york fashion week is just one reason of many i've made living in the city one of my life's to-d0s. until then, i've made my peace with following the events over the world wide web, as long as i remember to do so.
